Publication series. Issue 11: The Invisible Sisters – Actors on TikTok and Instagram in the spectrum of extremism, Salafism, Islamism and activism
The authors address the challenge of identifying online accounts operated by women and determining their affiliation with Extremist, Islamist, Salafist, other activist groups or none. In this section, potential indicators for this classification are discussed based on examples from existing projects and publications. Additionally, the authors analyze the content with regard to its formats, examining whether it can be broadly associated with Salafism, Islamism, or activism. Through these formats, it becomes evident whether and how ecosystem-specific online behaviors of women and girls can be concluded.
